Project Achievements

  1. Mandatory 6 month health care check up for all sponsored children results in:
  • Reduced incidence of disease and illness and healthy habits integrated into family life
  • Increased access to proper emergency and/or ongoing medical care and medications and services
  • Improvement in overall health and increased access to daily nutritional and health maintenance needs.

 

  1. All sponsored families have bank account as well as the following benefits provided by the Indian government:
  • Women who lost their husbands are now receiving their widow's funds, (INR 3600 – INR 9600)
  • Orphaned children receive their benefit scholarship from government (INR 5000 Yearly)
  • Families are now receiving their gas subsidies.
  • Families have now educated about how to save for emergencies

 

  1. Supervisory Support Services:
  • Weekly visits to monitor and track the condition of the child and family (health, medical needs, educational needs and financial needs)
  • Weekly meetings with each sponsored child to work on personal development skills and to provide religious and moral support
  • Training and intervention for each child and/or family, when needed, regarding their health, living condition and financial status
  • Training and education for the entire family on the use of funds and creating a household budget

 

Highlights 2016-17

  • Provided services to 8 regions in 4 areas (Kashmir:Bandipra, Budgam, Pattan, Srinagar, Assam: Kokrajhar, Gujarat: Anand, Andhra Pradesh: Kadapa)
  • Serving a total of 500 families and 785 children
  • 49 students have successfully passed 10thBoard exams.
  • 28 students have successfully completed their Junior College Courses, with most moving on to advanced studies or vocational training.
  • 5 children are preparing for Government College Entrance Exams and 1 for the Bank PO exam.
  • 22 children have entered in to Professional Degree courses.
  • 25 students have benefitted from Vocational Training
  • 37 students have been trained in Computer Literacy.
  • 1 vocational training Center has been set up in Kokrajhar
  • 31 CARAVAN youth are now gainfully employed.
  • 50 students have successfully completed three years of a Deeniyaat course along with regular school education. Most have completed years 1 and 2 of the course.
  • Monetary support provided to 7 families to help pay for their daughters to be married.
  • 500 families received a food kit with one month's food supply during Ramadham.
  • Blankets were distributed to 259 families during the winter season.
  • 241 families received life saving health drinks as a response to the high heat during the summer months.
  • 110 rechargeable lights were distributed among Assam families as most of the families do not have electricity at night.
  • 2 families in Assam and 2 families in Kashmir were helped in re-construction of their homes
  • 1 tube well was installed for the use of 3 families in Assam
  • 1 family in Gujarat, Anand was helped with livestock (goats)

 

Highlights 2015-16

  • Provided services to 8 regions in 4 areas (Kashmir:Bandipra, Budgam, Pattan, Srinagar, Assam: Kokrajhar, Gujarat: Anand, Andhra Pradesh: Kadapa)
  • Served a total of 473 families and 742 children
  • 55 students have appeared in 10th class board exams.
  • 30 students have successfully completed their Junior College courses
  • 3 sponsored children received laptops from Anandaram Barua Award by Assam government after getting 75% in 10th Board Exam, 1 child received a tablet as well.
  • 14 youth have joined Diploma Courses or Vocational Training Programme.
  • 70 children have joined a 3 month extra-curricular activities programme.
  • Grouping Maktab was set up in 14 villages of Assam.
  • 8 children in Assam passed chief minister special exam, for which they received a INR 5000 thousand cash award.
  • 14 CARAVAN youth are now gainfully employed.
  • 3 families in Assam, Kokrajhar were provided livestock (goats)
  • 473 families received a food kit with one month's food supply during Ramadham.
  • 216 Families received blankets during the winter season
  • 109 families received life saving health drinks as a response to the high heat during the summer months.
  • 131 Assam students received school bags
  • Monetary support was provided to 5 families for girl marriage.
  • 1 family in Assam had their damaged home entirely rebuilt

  • Served a total of 473 families and 742 children
  • 51 students have successfully passed 10thBoard exams.
  • 17 students have successfully completed their Junior College courses with most moving on to advanced studies or vocational training.
  • 2 students qualified to take the Government College Entrance Exam
  • 15 students entered in to Professional Degree courses.
  • 20 students enrolled in Vocational Training
  • 55 students were trained in Computer Literacy and English Speaking Basic Course
  • 4 CARAVAN youth were gainfully employed.
  • Children in all service areas began their 6 year deeniyaat course along with regular school education. 
  • Monetary support was provided to 2 families for girl marriage.
  • 473 families received a food kit with one month's food supply during Ramadham.
  • 216 families received blankets during the winter season
  • 50 families who were severely affected from September 2014 Flood in Kashmir were helped with food kits, clothing, utensils and other basic supplies
  • 15 families were provided financial support for the reconstruction of their homes
  • 5 families were helped with full construction of their homes.

  • 25 students successfully completed their Junior College courses with most moving onto advanced studies or vocational training.
  • 387 families received a food kit with one month's food supply during Ramadham.
